Privacy Policy

Famly Safe · Last updated September 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Famly Safe ("the app", "we", "us") collects, how it's used, and how you can have it deleted. Famly Safe is developed by an individual developer; contact details are at the bottom of this page.

Information we collect

Account information. Creating an account requires:

Family information. Once you create or join a family, Famly Safe stores whatever you and other family members choose to enter, which can include:

This is the core purpose of the app: a family chooses what to record, and it's visible only to that family's own members, according to the Owner/Viewer permissions each member has been given.

Subscription status. If a family upgrades to Premium, we store which plan is active and when it renews, so the app can unlock the right limits. This does not include your payment details — see "Payments and subscriptions" below.

Information stored on your device. Famly Safe stores your sign-in session in the device's secure Keychain storage, and schedules any reminder notifications you set directly with iOS itself. These notifications are entirely local to your device — we do not operate a push-notification server and no reminder content is sent anywhere to deliver them.

How we use your information

We use the information above solely to operate Famly Safe: to show your family's own data back to the people you've shared it with, to enforce who can see and edit what, and to send you the local reminders you've set. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build advertising or analytics profiles from it, and we do not sell it to anyone. Famly Safe does not use AI to process, analyze, or generate anything from your data.

Payments and subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store. Famly Safe never sees or stores your payment card details — Apple handles billing directly. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status: RevenueCat and Apple receive a device/account identifier and purchase event information (e.g. which plan was bought, whether it's active) in order to keep your subscription in sync across devices; they do not receive any of your family's actual data (family members, assets, documents, etc.).

How we share your information

We don't share your personal or family information with third parties for their own purposes. The only parties involved in processing it are:

Data security

Every family's data is isolated by row-level security in our database: a family's information is only ever readable by that family's own members, and only according to each member's Owner or Viewer permission. Uploaded documents are stored in access- controlled cloud storage, not embedded in the database directly. All network traffic between the app and our backend is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).

This row-level security governs access through the app itself. As with any app built on a backend platform, Famly Safe's developer retains administrative access to the underlying Supabase project, including stored documents and family records, for operating the service — for example, to investigate a bug you've reported, respond to a legal request, or keep the service secure. We access it only when there's a genuine support or legal reason.

Data retention & deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and its data at any time, directly in the app — see our Data Deletion Instructions for how.

Children's privacy

Famly Safe is intended for use by adults managing their family's information, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to create an account. A family's records may include information about a minor family member (for example, a child's name or date of birth) entered by a parent or guardian who uses the app — this information is protected by the same access controls as everything else in that family. If you believe a child has created their own account or provided us with personal information directly, contact us using the details below and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Famly Safe after a change means you accept the updated policy.
